Elle Ngo is a Vietnamese contemporary and conceptual artist, fashion model and trained actor. Fascinated by a vast range of disciplines, Ngo specialises in illustration, digital design, image and video direction and installation work. As a first generation, she is heavily informed by her roots; and subsequently, the intrinsic, and often clashing relationship between the West and the East.Ngo’s artistic influences include comic books and avant-garde anime, traditional South East Asian paintings and sculptures, and female surrealism and psychedelia. Combining her interest in youth culture, the natural and the man-made, Ngo enjoys depicting liminal worlds within her works, exploring themes of femininity, sexuality and cultural identity. This is a direct reference to both her current external and internal contexts.
